Chau Chak Wing Museum
The Chau Chak Wing Museum brings together the University of Sydney's Macleay, Nicholson and University Art collections under one roof, creating a contemporary cultural destination that celebrates research, education and public engagement.
Designed to house collections with welcoming, flexible spaces for exhibitions, learning and community events. The building's architecture is defined by a restrained material palette and finely crafted detailing. Exposed off-form concrete and minimalist interiors create calm, timeless spaces that allow the collections themselves to remain the focus. Achieving this level of refinement required close coordination, ensuring complex infrastructure was seamlessly incorporated into the architecture rather than competing with it.
Project completed while an Architect at JPW.
